Making space for the words
- Witold Rybczynski examines the architecture of modern libraries at Slate.
Fascinating slideshow from Slate's resident architecture expert. Back in the day I flirted with architecture as a vocation but eventually realized it wasn't the best fit (way too much math). But I've always been fascinated by the topic, and Rybczynski's a good enough writer to make it come alive even for a yeoman like me. He's also written a series of nonfiction works primarily focused on urbanism and housing; his Home: A History of an Idea is a great read.
